    Thanks guys for your comments

I bought this one from a greenhouse specialized in Orchids (well, mainly Phals). I just hate the potting medium they used. It is quite heavy. It has a lot of porous stones and other materials. It takes for ever though to dry. I am waiting for it to finish its blooms before I re-pot it. In the meatime I will just enjoy its wonderful blooms

    Default Very lovely spikes.

I wish you can post more closeup views of the blooms. As it is, it looks more like a hybrid, rather than Phalaenopsis philippinensis.

The first clue is that the inner surface of side lobes of the lip (I hope that is the correct term) do not seem to be bright yellow, the classic P. philippinensis colour. The shape of the lip also seems not correct, and the petals seem to be curving inwards in a "cupping" configuration, with some mottling.

Please contact me should you want more details; there are some references online that are available.

I'm quite sure this isn't a philippinensis. I think it's a Celebensis or a hybrid with a lot of celebensis in it.
But definately NOT a philippinensis, though the leaves are very similar.
Here's an example of a celebensis.

And here is an example of a philippinensis.

You can see how the celebensis blooms on a big arching spike, much like a lindenii, whereas the philippinensis blooms more commonly on a spike with sequentially opening blooms like amabilis or aphrodite and most doritis hybrids.

    Thanks Giovanna and ntgerald!
I think you are quite correct! I guess it was mis-labeled!
I did some research and it doesn't look like a philippinensis. It does look more like a Celebensis. I have include some cloe ups but sorry, my camera is not so great. They are not really focused.
