I am not going to guess on the equestris variety, but will say it is pretty. The purple noid phal is really beautiful. I really like the white edges to the bloom. Congratulations of your first, first - first!

    Cheers,
    BD

I'm hoping Nelson will chime in, or anyone else who is "up" on equestris varieties. In the meantime, here is a link to Nelson's post where he has a few shots of in-bloom plants and discusses the Aparri, Ilocos & leucothante varieties.

My own reaction was your plant's flower is almost coerulea (i.e. "blue").

    Cheers,
    Rob

they are beautiful, I especially love the equestris, I recently bought a equestris var alba and cant decide if its has started growing an aerial root or a spike, I guess time and patience will tell. the noid is very like my first phal which I prompty killed LOL it was sick when I bought it and I did it no favours! it is really beautiful.
