Phalaenopsis micholitzii

    Nice, Zainal! I didn't know this species, so I looked it up in Eric Christenson's Phal Monograph. It's closely related to Phal bellina, which the flower looks like, and Phal fimbriata, which also has a hairy lip. (Alas, my fimbriata didn't survive...)

    It's short spikes are the shortest in the subgenus. He writes, "[It] usually produces many inflorescences at a time, a feature that has not been exploited in hybridization programs. This species has been rare in cultivation until recent reintroductions."

    A very nice species!

    Thanks McJulie, you are right very rare in cultivation and in Malaysia the price really expensive.This clone surprisingly easy to blooms here, I got one previously but reluctant to bloom than I give up and passed over to my colleague. Story that I heard very lazy to bloom too. Zain
