    Default Oncidium carthagenense...

    Hi

I have two Oncidium or Trichocentrum carthagenense ...now Lophiaris carthagenense ...in Central America we commonly call "donkey ears".

This species is easily recognized by their small pseudobulbos, leaves broadly elliptical and rigidly fleshy-coriaceous. The Inflorescence is a panicle one side up to 200 cm long, multiflora with... many flowers mottled, white with large reddish-purple spots.

Common rainforests near rivers and swamps, throughout Nicaragua; 0-1000 m
Distributed from the southern United States (Florida) to Brazil.

    Hi Ana,

You are so fortunate to be able to grow these big beauties. We who have small growing areas can only look on in envy. Gorgeous!

    Cheers,
    Rob
