Default A Greenhouse can be hazardous to you health.

    Hi,
Most of you know that I just put a greenhouse together from a kit. I have had a lot of guidence from some of you. I have everything complete to the point that I have moved all my Orchids into it. Last wednsday I tripped on something and just fell to the floor and broke my femur. A compound fracture. I was alone and had to scream fro help. Lucky one of my neighbors heard me and called 911. They had to take me to Kalamazoo about 45 min. from here. Not a fun ride. They decided due to the nature of the fall I needed more tests to determin why I broke the largest bone in my body with a simple fall to the floor. They sugested cancer etc. They put me through a full set of ex-rays of every bone in my body plus a cat scan all this while I was in traction. The tests continued till midnight. I arrived a 2 p.m. In the end it was decided that I have brittle bones. They put a steel rod in my femur. I have no cast and was told I can put as much weight as pain will allow on my leg. I got home yesterday. I had a ramp built so I can get out of the house and to the greenhouse with my wheelchair. I was out there for a few minutes tonight and all is well. I am sure they were glad to see me leave the hospital. When you hear a long deep moan you will know I got the bill.

OMG... Is there a medal of honor for orchid growers? Or a Purple Heart at the least.

I'm so sorry you went through this.

A broken leg! Guess maybe I don't need a greenhouse yet (or a broken leg).
    Hope you're all better soon!

OMG! Larry, I am so sorry to hear of your accident. How lucky you have good neighbors who heard you & helped. My oldest nephew (who just turned 21 today) broke his femur about 5 years ago, so I know a bit about what you're going through. He was soon up & about, and I hope for a similar speedy convalescence for you.

    Best wishes,
    Rob

Larry, I can order you a medical alert device.... would like the necklace or the wristband? With all you've gone through to construct your pride and joy and to conclude with a fractured femur..... you need a small joke to put that smile back on your face! And this is your 'Doc' speaking... I'll send you my bill also....
