Yes thats the "tiangge" (outdoor flea market) I am referring to at the Lung Center of the Philippines. A lot of seasoned collectors from the various local plant societies throng there very early at sundays.

It a first-come-for grabs thingy that is why the saying "the early bird gets to choice worm" applies here. LOL!

There are a few stalls who sell bargain price local species from growers/farm direct from the remote province. Just be careful though and be thoughtful of what species you buy as some of the species on display for sale are not acclimated to grow in lowland Manila.

I go there almost every early Sunday morning from anywhere between 6 am up to 8 or 9 am. I wouldn't want to go beyond at most 10 am so as to avoid the growing crowd.

There are a lot for sale there - from orchids, to assorted houseplants - both common and exotic - to fresh vegetables, fish and meat stuff .... clothes, toys, pets like dogs and birds. One nice thing I like there is that I feel safe and do not feel that there is any danger of pickpockets or the like since security around are vigilant. Another thing is because it is in the area of the lung center they observe a strict no smoking policy there and they observe organic and safe gardening products rules - so most of the items on sale there are pesticide free and organically grown. Aside from the fact that some well-known personalities from the political and sports circles go there. It's really fun to be there and you can haggle unlike if you were to go to the department stores and regular commercial shops.

Who knows, our paths may cross and we may meet and get to know each other over there.

jojo, goody, we will be dropping by there this sunday. it'll be my 2nd visit there, we'll be
leaving pampanga at around 4:30am so we'll probably be there at around 6'ish. The wife
is going to buy some gift items for her niece and nephew while i'll be looking at orchids
and probably some other plants for sale to be placed in the garden. yeah, maybe we could
    bump into each other hehe.
