grocery store NOID Phal.
Found this at the local grocery store. Must of just come in, really good shape. They had about 4 or 5 Phals and I couldn't make up my mind, this one kept whispering "Buy Me, Buy Me"
Tried to id it thru the growers web site, but no luck. Will send them a pic and see what happens. Also tried Orchid wiz and no luck there either. In the meantime I'm calling it Phal. Passion Fruit ' NOID'. The photo doesn't do it justice the color is a deep purple with darker splashes on the edges. Enjoy

Wow that's neat. I like the torn look of the darker color on the edges. My camera can never seem to capture the color when it comes to deep purples/mauves....

Very nice. It reminds me of the phals that are said to have "batik" coloring.

Very nice pick! I'm sure it looks 10x times better in person!
Last year in November, I was at my local grocery store and saw some beautiful plants. When I walked over, I saw that they had Phal. Baldan's Kaleidescope halfway in bloom! I thought it was sooo pretty so I quickly snatched it up. Of course, getting the plant to the car was tricky, as I live in the Arctic Tundra known as Minnesota. I for sure thought that it was going to drop buds fast, but it didn't. The blooms lasted from Nov - Feb 2009!
It was an incredible buy.

Just heard from the grower(I sent him an email and pic) and he said the variety is called "Coral Mask". So no more 'Passion Fruit NOID'. She is now Phal. Coral Mask.
