Default Miltassia - the three sisters

We were given these three Miltassias (Royal Robe, maybe?) as a present for our wedding last fall. They are possibly even genetically the same plant if they are divisions, which seems likely given that friend's greenhouse.

In any case, all three are blooming right in time for our anniversary, with 7 spikes in all.

Next up on blooming is, I hope, my Miltonia spectabilis, also a wedding present. :-)

I note some differances between walinwaling's post of alcra. Sunday best 'Ontario' and this Miltassia. Markings/shading on the sepals is a bit differant, and the lower petal of this one has markings that are not present on the alcra. they could both be seedlings which would explain the differances, or this one may be a differant cross of miltonia spectabilis.

You just explained to me why I have so many plants in bloom this time of year!! I buy them for my birthday every year! lol Happy Anniversary....what a great plant! Love the dark colors on some I've seen lately...very nice job! And thanks again for helping me figure out why my porch is so colorful lately.

Yeah, no kidding with the birthday - it was also my birthday last week and I guess the word has gotten out about the plant lover tendency..... I was given approx. 5 new orchids and a bonsai as birthday presents!

yes, you are correct, i didnt notice those markings on the lower petal.
what gets me is, they are both almost identical and very confusing with all this clones and stuff.
after researching i got even more confused....lol

    but thanks for correcting me!
