    Default Rodrettia, different colors and forms

    as far as I could search I didn't find anything in the forum about Rodrettia.

    I bought these three some days ago and the buds start opening. The colors are awesome and together they put on a nice show

    Has somebody any experience on growing these little cutes.It seems they don't need great light, even less than others oncidiuns.

    The vendor's site tells they're all hybrids from Comparettia speciosa x rodriguezia lanceolata

    Rdtta fiesta "fortune" (yellow lip), Rdtta fiesta "Fire bird" (orange lip) and Rdtta Fiesta "oriental" ( red lip) The colors are pretty different

    any information would be good. thanks

    Is this a "new" intergeneric?

    Beautiful, Rosalia!!! I just love these miniature oncid types but unfortunately haven't been very successful with them; most probably due to overpotting and overwatering. My new batch of mini tolumnia crosses including one Rodrumnia ( must be cross between Tolumnia and Rodriguezia ) are doing fine following the advice from the vendor to have very open potting ( almost bare root or on slabs ).

    Now after seeing your rodrettia I'll be on the lookout for them. Thanks for the pix. Very inspiring.

    @ Cindi
    I found divergent informations about the registration of this intergeneric hybrid.
    first:
    [{Rdtta.}]R.Okubo, T.Okubo & D.Sander in Orch. Rev. 66(784), New Orchid Hybrids: 231 (Oct. 1958);

    second: I found in a Argentine seller site

    Rodrettia Fiesta - Hybrid (Comparettia speciosa x Rodriguecia lanceolata) made by Moir y registered in 1/1/1968

    anyway, they're not very "new"

    @ Ron,
    yes, they're really upside down, I inverted de pix to see them better.

    @Cattan,

    I found some informations and it seems they're not that easy to grow cause the Comparettia in it.
    They need lots of air moviment and thrive better mounted. should be sprayed daily. If they're potted should be let to dry completely before watering again.
    ligth requirements are less than others oncidiuns.

    Thanks for the comments. Thanks Julie and Janet, good you also love them. I still can't choose one of them. But the yellow lip, with rose sepals, is really beautiful.
