    Hi Randy,

I'm the guy who's talking with you every early morning at the Lung Center.
All the plants that I have bought from the people of Quezon and Nueva Viscaya provinces are already transported to Bukidnon.
I'm no longer working in Manila and I can no longer buy plants from these provinces.
My next journey would be my search of phalaenopsis micholitzii and other orchids from Mindanao.
I hope I can find them soon and my first exploration would be the nearby forest outside of Mount Kitanglad and Ranges in Bukidnon.
There are lots of specimens there and a lot more dangerous because there are rebels monitoring closely to the mountains, foreigners are strictly not allowed in these areas due to conflict of interests.

    Thanks,

    DC
Hi phil, you must have mistaken me for someone else, last time i was there was last Jan3
of this year, and prior to that a week before xmas.... prior to that still was way back in
july. As much as i'd like to visit the lung center on a regular basis, i am based in
pampanga and thus the travel time needed is a bit restrictive.

anyways, i believe that mindanao holds a lot of promise when it comes to discovery of
new species. IMHO the presence of unlawful elements may have protected them from
being poached, thus being protected and conserved.

    Hi Jim Cootes,

The plant was gathered from the western part of Mount Kitanglad and Ranges.
I bought the plant to a friend who is living near the area.
Last 4 years, my friend brought lots of Phalaenopsis fasciata, Dendrobium phillipsii and Dendrobium bullenianum from this area but it all gone neglected in there plant shop because in Mindanao any plants came from wild considered as weeds and everytime an orchid or a hoya was included in the gathering of mosses, they are thrown away.

    Hi Randy,

Sorry. Maybe I was mistaken to identify you.

    Thanks,

    Thanks people...

This plant is gathered from the forest in our island.
Lucky for me that I have the one of rarest Phalaenopsis specie and I should take care and have it propagated and multiplied...

    Hi Guys,

I will be in the Philippines this coming January 30 for about 3 weeks. January 31 I will be at the Lung Centre. So if you see me there, don't be shy to come up and say hello. I am the old Australian guy with a white beard and a brown hat, usually with a big camera around my neck. There will also be a few of my "ina anak" (god sons) with me.

I am looking forward to meeting some of you guys.

This is a visit to see if I can find any more species to add to my book. After this trip I will update the text and pictures, and then send the lot off to publisher to see if they want to go again with my book.
