    Default New flower...different color:

This new flower just opened and it has much more color than the last flower. I guess it is probably different sunlight levels...or water....or fertilizer. Whatever; I like this way better. Much more purple and the striations in the middle are much more pronounced as well.

Beautiful flower! To be honest I would love to have a plant of each! Like the first bloom also.

I sat and did a side by side on the two flowers last night. What I cannot figure out is how it changed shaped. I understand how it would change colors abit, that is easy to figure out in fact. But the entire flower seem flatter and the points seem much more open. After about twenty minutes of staring at it I still was amazed at how different they are.

This second bloom has 'better' colour but after looking at the photos many times I think the first one has more pleasing shape being rounder and more proportionate in the parts but then my opinion is based only on the photos. Wish could see them in real-life side by side. Any way both of them are pretty and worth keeping. Thanks for sharing.

Actually; these blooms came from the same plant. I had taken the pics and placed them side by side on my computer screen to compare them. When I first received the plant recently; the flower in bloom was the yellow rounded flower. It has a new flower open and it is the one with more purple and star shaped. Same plant, different looking flower.

Thanks Connie, that's really odd. I could have sworn they came from different plants! Such a difference in shape and colour.

I know...if I didn't own the plant and had just seen the pictures I wouldn't believe these two flowers came from the same plant. I can understand some variations in color, but the change in shape as well really got me.
