    Default Three Phals

So there's a guy in my OS who is culling his collection, in preparation for his move to Pakistan. He grows many, many Phalaenopsis. I figured this was my opportunity to get my obligatory Phals: one big white one, one yellow, one red, and I already had a harlequin.

    So here they are:

Phal. (Penang 'Pinkfilligree' x Green Mist 'Khong')
    Blooms on three spikes.

Phal. (Carmela's Brite Lites 'The Light' x Taida Lawrence 'El Nino')
    Blooms on two spikes.

Phal. (Hawaiian Clouds 'Hawaii' x Yukimai 'Tinny')
Blooms are 4 1/2" across and, as you can see, almost totally flat in profile.

I love the red one, next phal on my list . I only wish the flowers are not so overlap like that. I wonder if there is a way to make the flowers grow at a better distance from each other so that the petals do not overlap?

    Thanks Gin!

Tanya; it was staked up really high (the red one that is). With a better arc (i.e. lower and less staking), they should tile in a more attractive way, but I won't be able to try it out until the next spike comes along.

    Great plants, Sue!

I love the yellow one, and the white's flowers are very impressive - both for size and flatness!
