This seedling is having it's first bloom. Isn't it just nifty?

Right now, leaf tip to leaf tip is 6.5". Flower is about 1.5" square. I'm told it will grow to about 11-12" tip to tip leafspan at most.

Cool flower, even cooler because it's a seedling's first and a very funky flower spike beside it!

    Congrats!

I wish I was a good photographer or had Prem nearby. The lip and column structures on this are so cool and complicated, but I just can't get the photo to come out at all. <Sigh>

I adore this thing already. Rumor has it that it will be fragrant some day and that would be a plus, but I really like it for it's small size and complexity.

Nice one, Ronnie-Sue--congratulations on blooming it!

Yah, too bad we don't all have Prem's photography skills--still, your pic certainly shows off the flower clearly. I know I've done far worse!

Ah the photo. Is my husband's work, not mine. You wouldn't even have been able to see the lip if I was taking the picture. :toofull:
