About 2 years culture and 4 or 5 medium plants fastened with wire individually on the trunk. They all just keep growing and have created a fusion which now looks like one huge plant. By the way, I have done this with several other tree trunks so there are many more. I'll post some more pictures today. It's easy if you live in a tropical zone!
Also, don't forget most wild orchids grow on trees so it is a far more natural habitat for them than in pots...

    Cheers, Michael

Wow! Yes, I guess it's far easier for some species if you live in a tropical zone! I have to keep most of my plants inside in winter and autumn (and sometimes spring) because of the cold temperatures (down to -5 sometimes!!).

What Onc species is this? Are they all the same or are they different?

Very nice idea and setup Michael. I had some problems with termites that ate into the wood and causing the old branches to collapse.

That is often a problem in our areas. What you can do is fasten them onto a live tree
to avoid this problem. Just make sure plenty of sun and water!

    Cheers, Michael
