Default My Very First Rebloom! Yellow and Red Phal.

Well I've finally done it! I finally got one of my orchids to rebloom! I've been trying since I was 13 years old (7 years!!!!) and it finally happened. I couldn't be more happy with the perfect, beautiful, healthy blooms I got.
This Phal. NOID was given to me, to be taken care of, by one of my professors who is also my mentor in biological research, she specializes in St. Johns Wort. It was in bloom when she gave me it quite some time ago. Much to my surprise, several months after it already bloomed once it shot up two nice big spikes!
I'm currently working on in-vitro propagation with Bletilla striata and a purple Phalaenopsis. (Separately, I made it sound as if I tried to cross them )

Here's Cattleya that has been in my family for 10 years, without blooming once! My mom gave me to to try to get a bloom. It was dang near dead when she gave me it (those tiny, shriveled and brown psuedobulbs are the all there was when I got it a year ago. It looks to be on the verge of exploding! (Same plant in 3 different containers)

Fantastic that it bloomed for you. Warning: watching them bloom makes you want more and more and then becomes addictive. Nothing like seeing a new bloom that you know you produced!

IT certainly is a accomplishment to get that Phalaenopsis to double spike and bloom on both spikes so nicely. The way your going its going to be at least one of the Cattleya's next. Good growing! AL
