    Hi Derek,

For a plant of Phalaenopsis stuartiana to bear the varietal epithet of punctatissima it has to be heavily spotted on the dorsal sepal and petals, as in the 'Larkin Valley' clone. Phalaenopsis stuartiana var. nobilis has flowers which are bright yellow. An image of the nobilis form will be in my new book, which will be released in September this year. To my knowledge there is no alba form of Phalaenopsis stuartiana, or at least I have never seen one.

    All the best,

    Jim Cootes

These flowers are really quite striking Ron. I also notice the remarkable detail and clarity in your photographs. I enjoyed this discussion on Phalaenopsis clones and species everyone. AL
