    Default Miltoniopsis Ouaisne

heres another of my Milts' . Not a great spike, just three flowers, and only one spike too. But quite a pretty flower I think - biggish too, some 12 cm - getting on for 5 inches, north-south.
I overhauled the tray where most of the MIlts are growing , and am glad to see that some of them are doing better and starting double spikes. But I have in the past had four spikes per bulb, and that's a standard to aim for.
The odd name is I think a French girls name (?) This is a plant bred by The Eric Youing Foundation in the Channel islands, which although notionally British ( although they have their own parliament and tax laws - they are tax havens) - are in fact only a very few miles from the French coast , and more Fench is spoken than English..

Well sometimes smaller quantities of blossoms lead to bigger blossoms and as in this case, I would go for quality over quantity. Reall nice big blossoms. Well done. I love a Milt. lip but I hate painting them. Those spikes and horns on the lip make it tough.

That's a beauty! I sigh over the pictures of these online. They would melt in our heat. I'll just sit and stare at your pics....
