    Default A small Maxillaria tenuifolia

This is the last orchid I will post today. It is a favorite because of the strong coconut fragrance. This one took me some time to figure out how to grow. If you read online, wikipedia describes this orchid as:

It is one of the easiest orchids to care for.

Maybe for whoever edited that article. hahahah... Anyway, mine finally started growing and is now producing more than one bloom at a time.

Congratulations on learning the ways of the Maxillaria tenuioflia. I need one of these. The fragrance sounds great and I love their growth habits. Thanks for posting this. AL

I can't wait. I have four little pseudobulbs that will hopefully grow up to be as nice as these. Any hints, Bruce?

Give it lots of light - more than other oncidiums and keep it well watered. Once I did that, it really started to grow. I fee on a normal schedule so nothing special there.

Thanks, I'll move that little puppy today and it will get light!! My Sharry Babies are giving me lots of flowers, so I'll move the Maxillaria into that area.

I don't have it now , but did grow it way-back. It was always going cheaply at the Society auction sales, because few cracked it - everyone could grow it , few could flower it. But my Maxillaria experience recently has them needing a rest in winter. Those hard leaves and bulbs give that clue too. How hard, and how long, well you tell me when you've worked it out. The cheerful colour would make it worthwhile if only....
