An old favorite. I think we still have this orchid, but the heat last year may have killed it. Yours is very nicely bloomed.

    Cheers,

It is in bark I cant exactly remember what mix... But it has broken down a lot and it has moss growing on the surface. It is a water hog I water it like every other day, mind you the place where I have it is very warm and humid, but it gets cooler here at night and I have been leaving some windows open to force some of the phals to bloom or at least I think that's what I am doing lol (night before last it was 33 degrees F)

It was 33 outside it probably was in the 60's in the room with the orchids**

So this orchid. How often should it bloom? This one dropped its flowers towards the end of July, and shortly after I switched it over to semi hydroponics and now just over 2 months later it has another flower spike!! I thought it would be more of a yearly bloomer but I guess it does what it wants lol I will post pictures of it once it is blooming.

Most of this oncidium alliance are not seasonal at all, they will flower when the growth is at the right stage ; we also find - in UK - that most tend to complete a cycle of growth, flower and rest in under a year , like 10 months, so one plant will flower at a different time every year and sometimes ( on successive growths) twice in a year . Or flower on one side, then after a month or so, flower from the other side of the bulb.
