Great plant, Daniel, but I'm amazed at the shadow - you actually get sunlight in Vancouver?

Patty, you are very observant. That was the sunny day for 2011. Next one will be 2012. The chickens have never seen their shadows before and were running around trying to escape them. The eggs were laid scrambled as a result. It was a bit too bright, the colors are more washed out than the plant really had, but it was my only day off so I went for it.

Jordan - Amazing! I googled on Oncidioda charlesworthii 'Mishima' and that is EXACTLY what this looks like! Impressive! So apparently the answer to your second question is yes, it can be found in a big box store. When I bought it, this one was in a tiny tiny pot and had a small flower, and was ideal for its window location. Now it's bigger and putting out 2 new pseudobulbs while blooming. Now that it's impressed me, I'll probably pamper it and maybe it will never bloom again Next year will tell.
