    Thanks guys.

By the way, this variety was mixed along with common variety and when they bloom together.

    hi Derek,
your plant looks like P.fasciata, and why var. alba?
    i will attach a drawing of P.reichenbachiana.

Lip is very variable but the presence of trichomes is the basis of this species in which is absent in Phalaenopsis fasciata.
In previous records, Phalaenopsis reichenbachiana is said to be endemic in Mindanao.
I don't know if there is another locality in its neighboring islands.

This is another common specimen of Phalaenopsis reichenbachiana, in first sight it may look like Phalaenopsis fasciata but looking further in its midlobe it has trichomes.

It does look like Phalaenopsis reichenbachiana to me too, but the varietal status is absurd- nowadays colour forms are more correctly ascribed with forma status. Another concern is that we should not be circulating unpublished names.

i just found some interesting stuff on this subject.: Similar Species and Species Complex of Phalaenopsis
which clearly shows how complex those 2 species are.
