Default Fooled by Bllra. Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' AM/AOS

Several weeks ago there was a post of someone's beautiful Howards Dream and I replied that it was one of my favorites and that mine apparently wasn't going to bloom this year. I guess I need to pay closer attention to my orchids that I summer outside. We have a three tier deck system that is filled by plants and then my orchids nested in around them. The orchids get watered/fed by hose if it doesn't rain and that is about it for their care.Last week I noticed this vivid color among the fronds of a potted palm and on inspection there was Howard's Dream in bloom. The palm put out so much growth that the plant was basically hidden and out of site. With the spike that grew this year I think I need to get more palms to place my orchids around or else move to Florida. How many palms does it take to hide 300 plus orchids?LOL

    Default WOW!!!!!!

That's the kind of being fooled I wouldn't mind one bit! These are stunning, Bill! Now I'm really excited because in the scurrying at the last Orchid Society meeting I went to, I managed to pick up TWO "Howard's Dream"(s). The conservatory had put out a floor full of plants that not only weren't blooming, but they had folded the tags down so that no one knew exactly what he or she was getting. I didn't know what I had until I got home later that night - hope I can get at least one of them to even resemble yours.

Nice growing! You should be very proud!

Oh ye of little faith! You should feel terrible! You insult this poor orchid and it blooms for you anyway! Actually Bill these blooms look big and beautiful! Isn't nice that your orchids like you as you are. AL

If liking me as I am is the case then my orchids have absolutley NO taste what so ever. LOL If you think I insult my orchids you should be around when I am insulting my friends. What friends? LOL Thanks Al.
