Default New Spike forming on Phal. cornu-cervi

I have had this one for three years. I bought it in spike and it has bloomed off that spike for the past two years. Today I noticed a new spike forming. I am really excited because I love seeing these with multi spikes that remind me of stag horns. Now the waiting starts!

I definately will keep you posted. I am planning to do a photo history of this spike from now to when and if it ever blooms. Am really excited about this second spike. As i said I love the stag horn appearence they develope and the fact that they can continue blooming off the same spike for years. This oone has great markings on the blooms.

Hi Bill. will you start, change or begin to treat the phal any different now yo u have clocked the spike/s. Change of location? feeding - NPK altered? watering? misting?. Any specific products? . Have not had a phal spike for me yet and shop bought bloom doesnt count for me. No achievement or satisfaction there.

Nice. IMHO you're growing it a bit on the dark side. Cornu-cervi leaves should be lime green at least or even yellowish when they're really happy. Then they'll produce spikes non-stop.

Yes it gets only morning sun and only for a few hours. I keep it in the same window i always have and the old spike has bloomed for me. As far as treating it any differently --not really-- regular watering once a week. very weak fertilizer once a month and other than that I just am going to watch it. As i have said this is my first spike to have grow since i bought the plant so am not sure if there are any special things i should do or not. I guess it will be trail and error unless other forum members who grow these have suggestions. The leaves are long and narrow and are what I would call a lime green.
