I've seen these on gardens on an island off Luzon, where they are quite common. The plants are big- comparable in size to P. aphrodite's- and the flowers tend to last longer and hence cluster more attractively than in the other P. equestris formas.

Could it be the climate/environment in that island why the plant is bigger and flowers more clustered than usual? I can imagine since that is an island off Luzon, the atmosphere must be less polluted and the climate refreshing and cooler over there.

Hi Jojo, I think it more has to do with genetics... I mean, I have seen practically every Phalaenopsis equestris variations and formas from various parts on Luzon, and yet none of them have the same vegetative traits of fma. aurea. And of course, these other plants came from places where pollution is non-existent too.
