Default Phal Sogo Vivien + 2

Just moved these out of 80mm pots and are not large plants. I took them to a club meeting friday night & got right up the noses of the few who said I couldn't grow or flower Phals. They will never learn, I love it when some SmA says I can't grow something.

Very nice phals, Roy. I have to admit I can't grow grow phals but that hasn't stopped me from buying a few now and then just to prove that I can kill them better than anybody else.

Well not all phals - just those imported from Taiwan, the ones grown in sphagnum in clear plastic pots that are sold in supermarkets and your boxstores (?). Species and those hybrids produced locally do quite well. BTW I've just bought 3 phals in bloom from a nursery during my recent holidays in our highlands; a white, a white with red lip and a dark pink. These are all bred locally by the nursery. I can tell you that it was very difficult to select these 3 from the 1000 or so in bloom. I've had success with the phals from this nursery.

Catttan, some Taiwan phals can rebloom in the lowlands. I think almost all except the dark pink standards. ----vendor information removed - see faqs on posting ----
