I spotted this at an orchid fair I went to at the week-end , and thought that the flowers looked unusually large ; in fact the natural spread is 11.5cm. I see that the one which got an AOS Award of Merit measured 10.2 - so my memory was good.,.The plant has two spikes one on each of two good leading bulbs. I'll put it in S/H when the flowers go off a bit - the plant is used in a display in the house at the moment.
Well grown it will produce two leads from every bulb, and double spike too ; I had one like this some 7 years ago but it suffered badly in my first years at this house, and although it is growing again in S/H is not yet up to a lot. So if this one "goes" ( grows) it will be a useful addition to the oncidium section.

This is a warmth-tolerant Beallara too. Mine is blooming now, after our 100F summer. (one of Milton Carpenter's hybrids, named after his daughter, I believe.) Oh, and now it's an Aliceara. My clone is "Morning Joy" AM/AOS, as I suspect is yours.

A beautiful flower. I have the Beallara which doesn't look quite the same as yours but unfortunately mine is now out of bloom. I haven't thought about putting it into s/h though. Maybe I'll have to give it a go.
