Aliflor is a branded name for LECA. Lightweight expanded clay aggregate. Another brand is Hydroton. Great for plants that need excellent drainage and like to dry out. I use this for some as I am a compulsive waterer. Haven't tried it with an oncidium

    Hi Cakedaddy.

Oh yeah I know lecca I'm more familiar with the Hydroton brand. I have been wondering about putting my phrags in it. I have just repotted all of my Beallara's in sphagnum. They look great and I hope that I can cut back on my watering now.
