I can't take credit for growing this beauty, I got it in bud, but it's been amazing to watch it bloom. It's taken almost six weeks to get all fourteen flowers open!

Also, there was some debate on the forum about whether variations in light or water would cause a phal to produce changes in flower color. In the last photo are 2 flowers on the same stem - the upper one swelled and bloomed during a stretch of normal summer weather and has much darker coloration than the lower one which bloomed during hurricane/tropical storm Irene when we didn't have sunshine for a week. So, my vote for changes in coloration would be that it is related to light exposure!
