    Default Phalenopsis violecea

my first violecea, in fact i think the phalenopsis genera is starting to invade my collection.

some story behind this particular plant.....initially bought it to rescue the plant but later the vendor told me he sold me the wrong plant (though he is not sure of the ID at that time) cause it is a wild orchid that he mistakenly place.

But when it bloomed, seems like it is a violecea, is there a wild violecea?

first pic is the entire plant, the second close up of the flower and the third pic showing the second spike forming.

Beautiful star-shape violacea (unselected, "old type" flower as I like it), and well grown plant. On your photo, it looks like a coerulea form. Is it pink in reality or more "bluish" ?

Ya agree looks like coerulea nice one, for your information in Malaysia it's very difficult to get the wild violacea, previously we can get this species a lots especially in Langkap but now only leave sweet dream that it wont happen again. Friend of mine told me although this species still exist but the number can be counted and most of the time they grow at the tree top.

Congratulations on your first flower. It's beautiful. I think you're growing it exactly right. Phal species seem to do well mounted like you have your's. Good job.

Very nice 'blue' violacea. As to 'wild', can't say for sure. Zainal has given some interesting info regarding this.
