    Default Phalaenopsis sanderiana

Only from the island of Mindanao, in the Philippines. The plant is new, hence the blasted bud.

Default thank you, Gin & BD...

although I aspire to achieve the level of photographic technical proficiency that I see in some other guys' posts not only here but in other forums as well.

I wish I had more time to tinker with my camera, or take beginners' classes in macro photography, but for the time being, that remains a distant dream.

    P. S. Would you be able to recommend a macro photography book that I can purchase?

Gorgeous bloom. I lived in the Philippines for just over a year. They really have some amazing things that just grow. I did find, however, that orchids are bit more challenging here in the states. (ie you can't just leave them on a tree outside and ignore them -- that only works in the Philippines and other tropical places.)

I really wish I could, but I don't know of one. Prem might. Send him a PM. His photos are amazing.

    Cheers!

That is so gorgeous.. I love the hint of pink in the petals... I have one of these but it is so tiny... it will be a few years before flowering if I don't kill it first... Thank you for showing me what I have to look forward to.

    Cheers

Ohh, so lovely! Almost like a little fairy with wings! That is my favorite part about travelling around the world. Seeing beautiful native plants and animals in their natural environment. Hybrids are wonderful, but Ma Nature's stuff just can't be beat.

That is gorgeous, I had one, but my kitty cat chomped on it and destroyed the plant.
I've been looking for a new one, but I totally dislike ordering orchids on the web.
