Default Another basket of orchids for the hall...

The dark red one is Bga. Nelly Moser "Westland Wonder" - a smaller flower but more solid red than the usual Nelly Mosers, or is it just my culture recently ? ( which has been pretty poor as I have been otherwise occupied for a few weeks - that would account for a smaller flower and then the darker red would follow).

By the way"Westland" is the name of the province of The Netherlands ( which most people in UK quite erroneously call "Holland" - which is another province - where there are very many orchid nurseries , or s some people say, orchgid factories, since they churn out flowering planst by the million.

The taller darker red one is an Onc. Bobcat , and the yellow one is an Onc. Eric Young x something or other .
I am looking forward to being able to spend a bit more time with my orchids now that my wife is home again - this display was to welcome her.

One of my favorite male friends once said to me that he had made a significant discovery: no matter what the reason, and especially if there is no reason at all, "flowers are always the right thing".

You are a fine example of a true gentleman to us all (even we women), Geoff. Your thoughtfulness combined with your astounding experience with, and knowledge about, orchids makes for a powerful force! The basket is beautiful and I love the Oncidium Eric Young cross. Lovely, lovely arrangement and I am happy to hear your wife is home.
