    Default NOID Phal

One of my first plants- possibly my first phal. I have no idea what it's name is- looks close to 'Lucky Girl' but not quite.

    I agree with Wolf:
Clean, paper white phals with a contrasting
    purple lip are my favorite.
Yours looks like it's a nice size, too.
I'm disappointed, a couple of my out-of-bloom-purchased NoIDs
are blooming out to be kinda smaller flowers.
You have a nice looking flower there.

Clare - petals the sparkly kind of 'diamond dust' texture, or the flat white? That should help narrow down the search for an ID

    Thanks for the love guys.

It is a big plant- the flowers are bigger than my palm.

This poor plant. It's always the first one I think of giving away when I want someone new (I don't have much space so I sacrifice). It won't win any beauty contests. The leaves got burned one year and last year squirrls munched on the leaves and some of the arial roots. It has two giant leaves left and I hope it will grow more after the blooms go, but that won't be for months yet. This year I think I might chop off the spike to let it regroup.

Anyhoo- I think it is a flat white, Diane. It would be wonderful if I had an ID for this kid. : )

    Default NOID Phal

This looks VERY similar (and also from your description of the giant flower) to my phal that had no other ID than "Kinu 'Pink Morning'". I have tried looking up information on-line for the taxonomic information, but no luck. In every search I end up with "Kinu 'White Bear'". Hmmm..would the Kinu part of the name in this case be similar to the previous post about "Brother" orchids...would it be the name of the facility that produced it?
