    Smile Beallara marfitch 'howard's dream'

Although I have been warned that Blra Marfitch is a cool grower, I thought I will try it in a shady corner of my greenhouse - we live in a sub-tropical zone. The results exceeded my wildest expectations - my next venture will be to find a Marfitch "Red Fox". The moral of the story?

Exactly, Rose. I have one here in sub-tropical Queensland.

I think intergeneric hybrids like these (Colmanara Wildcat etc) are temperature-tolerant and not strictly cool growing. Nice bloom.

Love your bloom. This is one of my favorites. Am always excited when mine blooms. I do grow mine cool and have good results. Am glad those of you living in warmer climes are having success with this beauty. It really deserves a spot in every ones collection. Thanks for sharing .

Just make sure you spray on a regular basis for rot and infections. I didn't keep up this summer for a couple weeks and apparently a couple of mine caught something.

How pretty! I supposedly have two 'Howard's Dream's among the survivors from my vacation, but as my caretaker pulled most of the id tags out of my plants I'm going to have to wait until (IF) they bloom. Nice growing - you must take very good care of it to defy convention and have such a vigorous grower!

Good growing,..... certain thing you can follow some definitely you can't for example Cymbidium species from high altitude they can grow very well in lowland but refuse to bloom their leaves wow fantastic but no spike.
