    Question A NOID I couldn't resist

It's more of a rusty orange on the petals than the photo shows, the flash just washed it out. Can't resist anything orange or peach, or for that matter fragrant, frilly, floofy...... anyhow, guessing its a Bllra.

I'm not buying anything more, really - just the stuff from Sue - - and the Winston Churchill - - and maybe that Paph Peachie..... and then there's that fragrant catt Louis mentioned.... No! No more.Really.

LOL, you sound like me. I keep swearing I'm done, but seem to always find room for more. I do think you need a Winston, they are handsome.

I wish the color had turned out better in the picture. Its lovely burnt umber/orange with bright yellow lip, all with lovely maroon spots.

Traci - I think I have a Winston lined up, just haggling over price.

    Diane,

Great you've found your Winston! Not to be disagreeable, but I'm not sure this is a Beallara--they don't usually "do" yellow. Have you ruled out Odontocidium?

    Cheers,

    Rob

No - I'll have to google that and see what I get.

    Thanks

Odontocidium it is! Rob, that's kinda scary that you guys know all this stuff. I have trouble keeping up with my passwords at work, let alone recognizing flower genera from color! I found a foto that is identical - Odontocidium Tiger Crow.

    THANKS

    Hi Diane,

Well, it wasn't simply the color. The shape was good, too. I really like Oncidium alliance intergenerics and have spent a *lot* of time looking at them. I would grow more of them, but they're just a bit too big for me. I think it should be mandatory for all Oncidium alliance plants to be crossed to Onc. Twinkle (or its parent, Onc. cheirophorum) to incorporate its size. As far as the Oncidium alliance goes, bigger is *not* better!

I've seen Tiger Crow and agree it looks like a good match for your plant, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Again, it's just a bit too big for me. If you like this plant, you should also check out some of the Wilsonara (several also with Tiger in their name). Oops, guess I'm being devilish <insert evil grin> by mentioning more things to tempt you after you swore you weren't buying any more! LOL

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Diane,

It is defiantely a Tiger Crow. My mom just bought one yesterday from AOS, and the buds and everything are identical to yours. It is very pretty!!!
