Default My New Oncidium Sweet Sugar 'Dwarf'

I have always wanted one of these. I had one about three years ago and I ended up killing it as I was not familiar with looking after orchids then. But now after having no fatalities since having reawoken my passion for Orchids last year I have decided to give this beauty another go. It was on sale in a local supermarket for five english pounds and I just, 'had to have it!'

very nice-the flowers look huge relative to the leaves! I wish we had these Onc. types in grocery stores!

Very good, Susie! I've always liked the bright, deep yellow of Sweet Sugar.

So very pretty and cheerful! My Onc Sweet Sugar is definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite of all my collection. It just keeps blooming, and I think the growth habit is nice. Enjoy!

When I first started growing I had bought a couple and promptly killed them. One of them was rotting and the bulbs I managed to save I mounted on a piece of driftwood. It continues to grow...now if it would only bloom! I'll enjoy your lovely blooms while I wait for mine to give up a spike...

The actual name -I believe although I can't say for sure - is Painter's Dwarf. I think that this is because it has small pbulbs compared with many other types.
