    Default Twinkle I.D. Please

picked this up at our local hardware store because I did not have this yellow with a very bright fingernail red. Pic makes it look orangeee but it isn't, red marking are all the same shade. I call it a twinkle (fan shape growth) because the plant is so small but the flower is the size of a quarter. Anyone get one with a tag.

Looks like a tolumnia orchid of some type, Carol. Maybe someone can get you an exact identification.

    cheers,

I think Tolumnia too. Advice : if you are searching online for an i.d. using the word "twinkle" you probably will mostly get results about Onc. Twinkle which this is not.

Yes, I do have a yellow and red one that I also picked up at a local hardware store (actually "big box"), Carol. I bought it in bloom, but most of the blooms faded and withered so I cut the spike off. It had no tag, but the bloom markings are close to the same as yours. I'm sorry I can't be of any help...I mainly wanted to tell you that I think yours is darling.....enjoy.

Thanks brit6v, I read an article that said not to cut spikes off, that these have a chance of a rebloom, did you ever hear that?

Uh oh.....yes, I did read that somewhere sometime ago, but totally forgot it!! Thanks for reminding me.....I'll "try" to remember next time, but my awful memory rears it's ugly head way too often.
