    Default Phal. 'Soft Cloud'

My first tagged purchase, from the orchid show this morning. She's a petite little thing, and I absolutely love delicate arch of the spikes. One of the flowers has an endearing deformity - two lips on a single bloom. A little preliminary research has me thinking this a Dutch hybrid.

I have gotten part of my photography issue sorted - it helps a lot when I use a better camera. Here are some close ups of the blooms on this phal.

Looks like some nice branching going on there. Should be quite a show when in full bloom.

Cool little white phal blooms. I like the bit of yellow in the bloom center.

    cheers,

Confirmed that 'Soft Cloud' is a Dutch hybrid. It was bred by the Pannekoek Orchideeen and licensed by Floricultura in 2010 for commercial production. It's not RHS registered though, and information about it's parentage is not available. Presumably it's a complex hybrid. I think it's a lovely little orchid, and am happy to have been able to find out more about it.
