Last week when I attended the orchid workshop at Longwood Gardens I took time to visit the conservatory and see the orchid extravaganza that is held each winter. Longwood buys the thousands of orchids used in the displays from growers worldwide. When the show concludes at the end of March the display orchids are sold to the public at great prices. This year many pastel colors were used. Some of the orchids used in some displays were not fully open. I am looking forward to seeing them when I return in a few weeks for the SEPOS Orchid Show and Sale. All the displays were breath-taking.

Thanks for sharing these awesome photos of the Orchid Extravaganza. Truly beautiful displays.
Hope you make it back for the sale.
Oh Wow! Those are amazing pictures! That would be one heck of a sale to go to...
thank you for amazing pictures Bill,i like to grab 2-3 vases in the first picture.

Stunning. I am so jealous! I can't make it this year - too short notice for me, but I plan to attend next year, to see Longwood and to attend the International Phalaenopsis Alliance meeting.

The IPA meeting is from 1-4pm on the 24th this year - dunno about next year yet. They're having two talks (one about under light culture, Bill) and an auction and roundtable disussion. It's a regional event - the big national symposium is in August, in Florida.
Bill, Simply amazing display. I wish I could have attended. Thanks for taking us along.
