William, all my orchids are grown outdoors 24/7, under a thin sheet of white curtain cloth (synthetic fabric). Phals, as with most of my orchids are in either plastic or clay pots in a mix of charcoal, broken pots/bricks, styrofoam and for bellina/violacea and their hybrids, the medium is topped with a thin layer of coarse sphagnum moss. watered once daily, if it does not rain. I use only organic fertiliser. I find phals can take quite a lot of fertiliser without problems.
    Hi Bro Paphioboy,

Thank you very much for sharing your growing regime. I love the wild form with a tingle of greenish at the end of each petals of bellina. I envy you that phals can do well at your location in Malaysia even though it can be hot & humid. But while i try to grow in high rise flat in Singapore, we always faced humidity and pest issue even though proper quarantine is done. Especially spider mites is my greatest enemy, i have many phals died due to this pest. I try many ways like lime juice, neem oil & white summer oil still there are always around after many sprays. How you perform your pest control?

    Sorry for so many questions.

    Thank u

    William
