    Default Phal bastianii

I'm determined to grow Phal species, at least the hot gowing ones. I've killed more that my fair share. This has several spikes but one bloom. I was so excited to see it.

My kind of flower Cathy! Lots of color and that neat pattern and form. These species Phalaenopsis scare me a bit too, but someday I am sure I will break down and buy one. AL

I think the trick for me Al, was to mount them. All the seedlings I've bought are sending out new roots and some even have new leaves. Most are a few years away from blooming but I get quite a bit of satisfaction seeing new growth. I made sure to stick with hot growing species.
