    Default Another NOID Oncidium

Another little unidentified oncidium type orchid that jumped right off the display table into my shopping cart. It's a pretty thing, the flower is all white when it first blooms but within a couple of days the purple colors start to show. The largest flower so far is 4 inches (10cm).

That is gorgeous! Love it! Lucky for you that it chose your cart to hop into. Wish one would follow me home too.

Martha: I have that one as well, and it's one of my favorites. It's Beallara Smile Eri. However, I don't think it's ever been registered. You can find it on the popular search engine.

I agree - the purple edging really makes the orchid more special.

Dave - thank you for the ID. It's the most guilt free $7.99 I've spent ever! And it made food shopping ever so much more pleasant with these two lovely orchids staring me in the face as I walked around the market. - martha

Martha, I am so glad you found this one. It is one of the first orchids I bought and I lost it due to over watering. I have wanted to replace it for several years but could not remember the name. Thank you for buying and posting it and thank you Dave for having the ID. Note to Bill--When are you going to learn to keep better notes? As it gets older it can be one spectacular plant when in bloom.

I really like this one! I especially like that the edging color comes on as the bloom matures. You have to love the little ones that jump in your cart. I know I do!
    Best,
    Tony
