    Default Cornu Cervi Hybrid

The Vendor who gave this to me told me it was a cornu cervi but upon examining the flower it doesnt seem to have the typical shape of a cornu cervi or coloration. Most likely a novelty hybrid. Not a competition plant as well since the sepals and petals fold slightly inward but still a lovely flower and I especially loved the picture here where the blooms are backlit.Name: _MG_3723.jpg

Great shot, Gavin.I don't think it's a cornu-cervi either but it is very pretty. Love the bold markings.

Thanks Zain and Yew Sung..not too sure abt the parentage but lovely nonetheless. Sadly, a lot of the novelty phals I obtained from my friend dont seem to do too well..quite prone to rot..to be honest I hope its not my lack of skill..but Im kinda worried it might be!

A friend of mine who moved from Alor Star to Ipoh has the same problem with rot. He says it may be due the higher rainfall in Ipoh. He complains that it rains almost every evening in Ipoh.Spraying with fungicide might help.BTW how's the baby? Keeping you very busy? I don't see your posts so often now.

Hmm, the higher precipitation may be a problem. I spray fungicide almost weekly now due to the wet season and yes your friend is right, the last few months it has been raining almost every evening. The baby is great, my son is now 11 months old and is crawling all over the place driving his old man to distraction hence why I dont post much nowadays. I had some time the last few days hence why Ive been on the forum more often!

Glad my youngest 'baby' is 40 and the oldest is 50. But so much fun when they were real babies though but no disposable diapers then! Wonder when the oldest baby(me) will need diapers. Hehhehe.
