    Default Little Twinkle that could

Just wanted to share my oncidium twinkle...got this a few years ago for three bucks and was sure it was going to die. I unpotted it when i got home and the thing just fell to pieces. I slapped it on some driftwood and it is surprising me now with ten spikes! There is a bit of cleanup to do, and it will be a while before its really a pretty plant, but shes a trooper and im proud! There was nothing on the tag denoting its color. I really wanted white, but it's not the pink one, so that's a plus!

Nice! The plant looks healthy and the blooms are really pretty. Someone gave me a big plant of the white form a couple of years ago but I promptly killed it.

onc. twinkle has been my test oncidium. you know, where you buy a couple cheap and place them around the apartment to see which window they won't die in? ha ha! that's how i do it anyway when trying a new orchid type. turns out, they like the dining area southern facing window. the white one i put in the living room, it died promptly. the red i put too far from the window and it nearly died, but the yellow was closer and it did good, not the red one is next to it, and blooming. don't these smell wonderful? i read somehwere they share a parent of sharry baby, and i'm not surprised. yours looks great one driftwood, good save!

Wow! What a terrific orchid/mount! I have one twinkle and would love to have more! Yours, however, is the nicest I have ever seen! Great growing!

I love these and love the idea of mounting them. I have a sweet sugar on driftwood and it needs a neighbor. I think i'll go look for one at a local nursery one of these afternoons. Thanks for sharing...

I don't know if it is technically a mount. The driftwood piece has pockets and I tucked moss into them. It's still a challenge to keep it moist out here where the air is dry. Its easy though considering that I don't worry about overwatering.

Great job! If it makes you feel any better, the golden yellow Twinkles such as yours have the best fragrance, in my opinion.
