Sorry - I see that one pic is not sharp all over - the pollinia are but not the petals - I'll do it again in a few days and replace that image.
Sounds like a species , with that ending, but is in fact a hybrid originally made and registered by the long gone British Company who specialised in what we used to call Odontoglossums - Charlesworths. They were very old fashioned - I used to go there 40 and more years ago - they grew in long narrow greenhouses, 60 feet by 10 ft, with "one man and a boy" per greenhouse, doing everything - stoking the boiler, spraying the plants with a hand held brass syringe ( like a bicycle pump) for humidity, rolling the lath blinds on when the sun came out, and back off again when the sun went in.. 19th Century technology and methods in the last quarter of the 20th century and of course impossibly expensive, and not great culture either.
The cross was Cochlioda noezliana ( which was used with odonts to get a red colour in - making Odontiodas) x Odontoglossum cirrhosum. All oncidiums now.
Keighley btw is a town in industrial Yorkshire, near Leeds and Bradford - lots of moors, mist, rain, cold - whcih odonts in general were said to like. In fact when I couldn't flower this particular grex when I first owned it, I was told my conditions were too cosy and warm.
But here it is in my Vanda and Cattleya house, growing in S/H, with now five leads on the plant, and loving it.
Its not the perfect shape for an orchid, but this is one I cherish. So cheerful - and lasts quite well too. I'll take it to the Bournemouth Society Xmas lunch tomorrow and put it on the table as a decoration ( we do that - and then have a competition -which is the plant members would most like to take home - prize is usually a big glass vase, engraved with orchids or something - I have won it a couple of times in the past - who knows tomorrow !)

I visited an AOS judge's greenhouse today and he gave this orchid to each of us. Thank you for posting, now I know what to expect when it blooms
