Default A Humble Purple Phal Hybrid

    Hi Everyone -

I was working with Phillip's Nikkor 60mm fixed macro lens yesterday, feeling rather mood indigo that he wasn't around to counsel me, but I came up with this close-up of the purple Valentine phal that I bought for myself in a flood of tears last week. It makes me feel marginally better to work harder on my photography when I'm missing him the most.

Maura, I just searched back through your previous posts and learned of Phillip's passing. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss; I can't imagine the pain you are still going through, and I think you must be just trying to deal with it one day at a time. This beautiful photo is a wonderful tribute to Phillip. You magnificently captured the heart of this gorgeous bloom, and beauty is something that transcends all time and space.

One of my dearest friends lost her mom suddenly last summer in a very shocking, untimely fashion. At the funeral, my friend's brother played a tribute to their mother on the piano. It was one of his own compositions, and you could just feel the energy in the room as he played. I could tell by the look on his face that he knew she was listening, and that her spirit was dancing.

Beauty transcends all...and so does love. I'm lifting you up in my thoughts and prayers as you continue to deal with Phillip's passing. May you find comfort in capturing the beauty that you know gives him so much joy. Your photo is gorgeous, and it is a beautiful tribute to Phillip. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us here.

We are blessed to have you.

Hang in there, keep on keeping on, and realize that we are always here if you need kind words, comforting thoughts, or just a listening ear. May God bless you and keep you as you continue your healing process.

We are all here for you.

Tomorrow will be a month since Phillip died and time crawls by with cruel lethargy. But every kind and compassionate thought makes just getting through the days and nights a little easier - so I thank you, Jenn, along with all the other forum members who have shared in my grief. There is no other place, for lack of a better word, where I have felt so free to mourn and still celebrate his life.

I just "liked" your last post, but then felt weird, because it can be kind of tricky when you give a "thumbs-up" to a post that reveals someone's pain. Just to clarify, my "like" is for the fact that you are able to find solace here among friends. There are some days when I feel like the forum members here know me better than the people who live in my own house! Or at least, they understand me better. I'm glad you can find some comfort here. You are much cared for! My you continue to find healing and hope.
