Default Oncidium Twinkle (I think?) in Bloom

This poor little thing is really at the end of a great burst of blooms - and it has suffered a few nippy (40s) nights down here in FL. When I bought it, I was told it's an Oncid. Twinkle, but no tag or anything. I've never had one before, so I'm relying on confirmation from the OT members for this. The fragrance is just delightful. Blooms are about 1/2" long, 1/3" wide. White with yellow.

Very nice. What's that growing on? It looks like a stone.

It's in a single-mold porous, lava-rock-type pot - made to look, yes, like a stone.

    Love the pot.

I've tried Twinkle a couple of times. Unfortunately, never could get its watering down correctly and they died on me.

Well, I've still got plenty of time to kill it, and this pot is a whole new experience for me - I'm not sure if I'm watering it correctly - too much/too little, etc.

I have one and have gotten it to bloom twice. Is the fragrant constant for you? Mine was just slightly scented and it seemed you had to catch it at the right time to truly smell it.

    Hi Maura
Just home from the Show, a very weary soldier, but after a good hot shower, just had to take a short peek to see what's happening on the Forum.

Your plant is Onc. Gold Dust ( Twinkle X Onc. cheirophorum)
    Beautiful.

ANGELA!!!! Hail, the conquering heroine returns!!!!

Thank you for the id! It's just a little one, but it has a lot of new growth and a charming scent (almost all the time when I've checked, Nicki).

Delighted for you, Angela, just delighted.

    Way to go, Angela!

Maura, I have two Twinkles (a purple and a yellow), and I thought your description of the blooms seemed a bit large for a Twinkle. My Twinkles have teensy little flowers. Lots of them, but teensy. And my Twinkles are fragrant, but I've had a similar experience to Nicki with the fragrance...you have to stuff your nose in it and catch it just right to really smell it; it doesn't fragrance the room.

I love, love, love, LOOOOOVE that pot. You wouldn't want to pm me with the vendor, would you?
