Default Phal. bellina (Orchidheights x Ponkan)

I didn't get the best photo of this, but I had to post it anyway (I don't have use of my camera). I raised this one from a baby and it rewarded me two weeks ago

    Default I am very impressed.

I had my bellinas rotting out on me, and you got your plant to flower from seedling-size?

Good growing, Jenn. I love my bellina, the fragrance is soooo wonderful. It has a developing spike, so I am hoping for a bloom soon.

    Very well done.
I,m just getting some of my seedling species Phals & primary cross Phal
seedlings to actually grow. They seem to be more finicky than my small Paphs
    & that takes some doing.

I agree. They are finicky, and believe me, I have had my share of casualties.

Bellina is Violacea x violacea right?? Atleast thats what the tag on my Bellina says. If its a cross between two Violencias then why do they call it Belinna? Just curious. I can't wait till mine recovers from Mite damage and spikes for me. I recieved it from a friend after he terminated the lives of the mites. The Violencia I saw in bloom smelled like fruitloops and I loved it!!

I think I just figured out why. Is it because they took the Phal Violacea Var. Bornio and made it its own species??
