Thank goodness that we don't see many ! They are very much NOT my cup of tea. But I have an Ascda - "Bloody Mary" which was peloric on its first flowerings, and which has now repented and produced nice non-peloric flowers . This must have a moral somewhere, but I can't quite put my finger on it....

Pelorics are not stable at all. You can have regular flowers and peloric on the same stem, or plants that have peloric flowers once, then never again. Moral of the story? Pelorics never really showed up until tissue culturing became the norm. I'm not sure anyone knows the exact cause. I guess the moral is to be careful how you reproduce your plants, whether by seed or cloning.
