    Default Noid miltoniopsis blooming

I know I posted this one six months ago, but it is blooming again, and I really like it. I repotted my entire collection over a few months (still have two left to do), and I was surprised to see this one bloom after I was done butchering it so heavily. LOL Anyway, not much is blooming right now, so this is all I got.....LOL

Thanks for posting again. Really lovely 'waterfall' pattern on the lip. Good flower count for a recent repot.

My milt is in bloom with only 4 flowers too! Aren't they supposed to have more? I love the fragrance, it's a lennart Karl gottling 'Red Rim'

Man what a stunning bloom. I wish I could grow miltoniopsis orchids here, but it is simply too hot for them.

    Cheers,

How do you grow them? They die all on me. I guess perhaps it's too warm here for them. I bought a Miltonia to see if I can grow these.

Miltoniopsis won't survive in our hot lowlands either but Miltonia are OK. I have a Miltonia Purple Queen that has been with me for more than 40 years and keeps blooming several times a year. When both the genera were lumped together under Miltonia. the cool loving Miltoniopsis were referred to as Colombian miltonia and the warm miltonia were called Brazilian miltonia.

I have one other Miltoniopsis, and I haven't had over four blooms yet on either of them. In fact, the other one hasn't even had four flowers yet. I don't have them growing perfect yet either though, as I'm sure you can see by the pleated leaves. They both reside in my "water hog" section. LOL

I certainly haven't perfected growing them. I'm hoping that I master them eventually, especially since there are two more that I want.

I do have one Miltonia that I'm doing my best to kill.........sigh....
