    Thanks for the info Roy. Before getting into my orchid addiction I had no idea there were so many different species and than all the hybrids and all.

    If you know what genus it is, a google search in images is a good place to start for primary ID. Further ID must be done as many images of certain plants that appear in Google are incorrectly named. ( by a mile )

    Denny, without the Taxonomists getting involved, there are around 30,000 different species & varieties of orchids. Taking into account all the Hybrids, 100's of thousands of plants are out there. The major difficulty in ID is a hybrid that has not been mericloned & made public in picture form.
